"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." Those are the famous words of Walt Disney, words that the Walt Disney Company lives by each day. Keeping true to that phrase, the Disneyland Resort hotels has recently been upgraded in two magical ways. The former Paradise Pier Hotel became the Pixar Place Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel added a new wing to its resort in the form of villas (properly known as "The Villas at Disneyland Hotel"). These two new additions to The Happiest Place on Earth are great options for you to rest your head after a long day in the parks. So, let's take a look at what could be your new favorite places to stay, while living your best Disney life in Anaheim.
Pixar Place Hotel
When the Disney Parks Blog first announced that the Pixar Place Hotel would be "the first and only hotel in the world to celebrate all the films of Pixar Animation Studios" we were not prepared for the magical that was truly in store for us all. Here "contemporary design weaves together with whimsical Pixar artistry from the lobby floor to the rooftop pool deck."
Featuring rooms and suites that sleep up to 10, everything from entering the lobby to dipping your feet into the pool, you'll find yourself surrounded by the artistry of Pixar and experience a whimsical charm that is second to none.
Upon entering the lobby, you'll instantly be greeted with the most iconic Pixar "character" there is, Luxo Jr. He's "stomped" his way into our hearts ever since the first Pixar film and really "lights up" the room. Plus, if you're lucky, you could run into your favorite imaginary character Bing Bong. He's pink and fluffy. He's part cat, elephant, and dolphin... and he's exclusively greeting guests at the Pixar Place Hotel.
Getting a good night's sleep is easy when you're surrounded by your favorite Pixar friends. These rooms are every kid and kid at heart's dream come true. Take a look at all the details.
Pool time? It's perfectly Pixar as well! Here you'll hang ten with scenes and characters from Finding Nemo and Luca. And when you're looking for a place to "pal around," you can kick up your feet and let the littles unwind in areas featuring everything from The Incredibles all the way to classic "Pixar Shorts." There are even cabanas your family can rent to take your pool day up a notch.
Stomach growling? You don't want to miss the newest restaurant at this resort, Great Maple Modern American Eatery. Here, the plates are as big as the name. It's American comfort food mixed with an element of fun.

Discovery Tower, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
Moving over the iconic hotel of the Disneyland Resort, the Disneyland Hotel just added a new wing full of characterful villas that ooze vintage vibes and captivate with perfect color palettes. It's a "modern resort that tells timeless stories." Welcome to The Villas at Disneyland Hotel or for short, Discovery Tower.
Just walking to the entrance of this wing, the "Pixie Dust" that lines the sidewalk will let you know you are in for a magical vacation. Plus, check out that lobby (pic above)! Just adorable!
The rooms at this resort are equally fun! Ranging from Jungle Book themed Duo Studios (that sleep 2) to Bambi, Moana, and Frozen themed 3-Bedroom Grand Villas (that sleep up to 12), no matter how small or big your travel party is, this resort has you covered.
Here's an up-close look at one of the categories you can book with your MMV agent, a Deluxe Studio (sleeps up to 4) featuring the southern charm of the Princess and the Frog. This specific studio is one of a handful that feature an extended balcony area facing the pool, giving you plenty of room to take in the sights and sounds of the resort.
Attention Steamboat Willie fans! You don't want to miss this next part!
Located in the kid's splash pad area you'll see Mickey as Steamboat Willie, "sailing through" to greet the littlest visitors of the resort.
Looking to grab a bite to eat? You can walk up or snag an "Advanced Dining Reservation" for the Palm Breeze Bar. Here you can "treat yourself to cocktails, mocktails, and chilled favorites. Savor shareable appetizers, artisan personal pizzas, salads, sandwiches, desserts and more."
